Report on Alcohol and Drug Abuse

On January 25, 2011 the County Commissioners approved the Montgomery County Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Abuse Task Force report.  The report illustrates the work that was conducted by the AOD Task Force established in May of 2008.  The Task Force is chaired by Commissioner Dan Foley and Jim Pancoast from Premier Health Partners and includes representatives from nearly every segment of our community.

A new committee is now being formed known as the AOD Implementation Advisory Team.  The committee is comprised of heads from the criminal justice system, hospitals, public health, and AOD provider organizations.  Their first role will be to ensure implementation of the Task Force’s 32 recommendations.

NIW April 21st-28th is National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW).

The goal of the Immunization Program is to increase awareness about immunizations across the life span, from infants to the elderly. NIIW is the perfect time to remind family, friends, co-workers, and those in the community to immunize their children, as well as catch up on their own vaccinations.

Public Health-Dayton & Montgomery County holds outreach clinics for children each month.
