Immunization Action Program

The Immunization Action Program (IAP) is a grant-funded program aimed at reducing or eliminating vaccine preventable diseases in Montgomery County by evaluating and improving immunization rates in infants under the age of three. Services for providers include continuing education programs, monthly newsletters, a quality assurance program (AFIX), and other educational materials/presentations.

Providers or parents interested in more information or wanting to schedule a program should contact the IAP Nurse during normal business hours.

Common Questions

What is the AFIX program?
The AFIX program is a free quality improvement program for all immunization providers. According to the CDC, routine assessment and feedback of vaccination rates for individual providers or provider sites is one of the most effective strategies for achieving high, sustainable vaccine coverage.
What about confidentiality?
The assessment is confidential, non-judgmental, and HIPAA compliant.
Can you come to our office and provide education/training for our staff?
Absolutely. The IAP provides a continuing education program, MOBI, free to all providers and staff. We also speak on any immunization topic, customized to your office needs.
