Community Health Outreach

The Community Health Outreach Program is a team of health professionals including registered nurses, community health advocates and a medical social worker. The staff focuses on the health needs and services of the community. Emphasis is placed on health promotion, prevention, and developing links to community resources through health screenings, education and referrals.

Yes, the program has a nurse available to make a home visit to assist and educate the family in getting rid of head lice.
Does your program offer any health education presentations?
The program offers a variety of health topic presentations. Programs for children include: dental, proper hygiene, hand washing, nutrition, self-esteem and head lice, among others. Programs for adults include: hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol, congestive heart disease, osteoporosis, and pandemic influenza preparation, among others.
Do I have to pay for services?
No, there are no fees involved for our services.

National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW)

NIW April 21st-28th is National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW).

The goal of the Immunization Program is to increase awareness about immunizations across the life span, from infants to the elderly. NIIW is the perfect time to remind family, friends, co-workers, and those in the community to immunize their children, as well as catch up on their own vaccinations.

Public Health-Dayton & Montgomery County holds outreach clinics for children each month.
