Board of Health
The Montgomery County Board of Health is the legal entity that has overall responsibility for the operation of Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery County.
A major role of the Board of Health is to adopt policies and to make such orders and regulations as are necessary for its own governance, for the public health, the prevention or restriction of disease, and the prevention, abatement, or suppression of nuisances.

It plays an integral role in the work Public Health conducts through their review, study, advisement, and recommendations to the Health Commissioner on matters related to public health.
