A diagram of your temporary food booth MUST be uploaded. It must include your handwashing station, dishwashing station (3 buckets/containers/sinks), location of all equipment being used (coolers, refrigerators, warmers prep tables, cooking equipment), and servicing area. The drawing must be legible and labeled. See example of a booth drawing below.

A mobile unit is defined as a food service operation or a retail food establishment that is operated from a movable vehicle, portable structure, or watercraft and that routinely changes location.

Mobile food service units may not remain at any one location for more than forty (40) consecutive days.

All food preparation and handling must take place within approved mobile unit.

Public Health does not enforce zoning, electrical, fire, building or other regulations. Check with local municipalities for local regulations.

New language added to the 2017 Ohio Fire Code (OFC) put basic safety measures into place for mobile food trucks. You can find information regarding these regulations at Ohio Department of Commerce

What to know about bird flu

• H5 bird flu is widespread in wild birds worldwide and is causing outbreaks in poultry and U.S. dairy cows with several recent human cases in U.S. dairy and poultry workers.

Mumps is a contagious disease caused by a virus that spreads easily through coughing and sneezing. Mumps can begin with general symptoms of fever, headache, muscle aches, tiredness, and loss of appetite, then may progress to include swelling of the salivary glands (often referred to as parotitis when the parotid gland, located in front and below the ear, swells). There is no cure for mumps and it can cause serious health problems. The measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine is the best way to help protect against mumps. CDC recommends children get two doses of MMR vaccine, starting with the first dose at 12 through 15 months of age, and the second dose at 4 through 6 years of age. Narcan is a life-saving medication. When given in time, it can quickly restore normal breathing in a person whose breathing has slowed, or even stopped, as a result of opioid overdose.

Public Health’s Office of Environmental Health provides a convenient online payment option for license and permit payments. The options available are Credit Card, Personal Check (Homeowner submittal)or Business Check. Please be aware there are processing fees that are applicable.
