Services Public Health Provides
The Public Health Clinic provides a limited menu of service to the public including, Childhood and Adult Vaccinations, Travel Vaccinations. Sexually Transmitted Disease Testing and Treatment (STI), HIV Testing and counseling, Tuberculosis (TB) testing and treatment and refugee health screenings for individuals relocating through the US State Department.
Public Health does not provide primary healthcare, school physicals or dental services.
If you are looking for low-cost/no-cost medical care and do not have insurance, Public Health recommends contacting one of these locally based Federally Qualified Health Centers for assistance.
These centers can provide a variety of routine medical care services including prenatal care, physical exams and more. In addition they can provide assistance in signing-up for Medicare, Medicaid and insurance through the Affordable Care Act. Legal Ohio residents may contact the Ohio Department of Medicaid (800) 324-8680 for assistance.
It is important to establish medical care with a primary care physician. This provider’s office will then become your “medical home”. The provider at your medical home will get to know you and your medical needs and help you make decisions about your health. If needed, your medical home can make referrals to specialists or refer you to other community services. Having a medical home provides you with a trusted place to go to for healthcare, and prevents expensive and unnecessary trips to an urgent care location or an emergency room for routine care.
