County water boil advisory still in effect until further notice

Some Montgomery County customers remain under a boil advisory. The current boil advisory area map is available on our website at www.mcohio.org/water.

This is NOT a County-wide boil advisory. Montgomery County customers currently impacted and under a boil advisory are located in Harrison Township, Jefferson Township, City of Clayton, City of Riverside, Butler Township, and City of Trotwood. There is also a searchable address list that customers can use to see if they are on the boil advisory list at www.mcohio.org/water.

Current County service area jurisdictions NOT affected by the boil advisory:

The precautionary boil advisory was lifted for portions of the County system early today. The following communities do not have to boil their water: Kettering, Washington Township, Miami Township, Centerville, and Moraine.Additionally, the following cities have their own water systems and were never affected by the boil advisory: Oakwood, Huber Heights, Vandalia, Englewood, Miamisburg, Union and West Carrollton.

The Dayton Foodbank will now serve as the central bottled water distribution site for customers impacted by the boil advisory. Their hours will be today, Feb. 15, 1-4 p.m.

It is recommended that customers run tap water for at least 3 minutes, and then boil for at least 1 minute, prior to consumption. Customers are asked to bring water to a rapid boil for at least ONE MINUTE prior to using the water for cooking, drinking, and oral hygiene. Water does not need to be boiled for bathing and showering. Bathing and shower is completely safe under the boil advisory.
